For their most recent field trip, EDS Third-graders didn't have to go far to find a wealth of knowledge about the natural world. They took a guided tour of Weymouth Woods with Ranger Scott Hartley - and got plenty of hands-on experience! Activities included the "Third Grade Human Tree," in which the children were parts of the tree - either heartwood, xylem, phloem, cambium, bark, roots or leaves. Students could also try their hand at coring a tree, as demonstrated below by Madi Pry.
